Vigilante 8: Second
Offense
Ahh. The morning drive
to work or school (in Ronin's case, home from the bar) is a tradition for
most people. This daily routine of triple no signal lane changes, tailgating,
speeding, cutting off, and road rage is just the pinnacle of finger flicking
fun that is the American driving experience. Yes the daily drive; an American
tradition. In case you haven't figured it out yet (and you smack yourself
if you haven't read the title) it's the time of year where combat driving
sims make their debut.
Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense
is set to bring car combat to the Dreamcast this fall and into your destructive
hands. Sporting 18 cars and 12 battle arenas, V8-2 should pack quite a gameplay
wallop, picking up where the Twisted Metal Series should have gone. Of coarse
since this is a Dreamcast game, expect some mind-warping visuals in the graphics
department (after all, look what they did with the PS-X one!). No word has
been given yet on multiplayer support through the Dreamcast's modem. And
if any game deserves massive multiplaying, it's this one.
Look for this game with
in a few months (or possibly now if the ship date rumor holds true). I know
I will.
