WHITE PAPER
March 1999
Summary
Office 2000 helps organizations get more value from their intranets. Office Server Extensions enable users to turn an internal Web site into a living collaboration environment comprised of Office documents, such as spreadsheets, presentations, and Microsoft Word documents, as well as standard Web pages. Office Server Extensions enhance Office publishing by enabling users to save files to Web servers or open and change files on an intranet from within their Office 2000 applications. They also allow users working offline to easily synchronize the offline and Web versions of their documents. This white paper discusses the benefits of Office publishing and Office Server Extensions in addition to their installation, administration, and maintenance.
