OpenJDK mailing listsScopeThe mailing lists of the OpenJDK project are for the discussion of the overall project itself, as well as the development of its components. These lists are not the right place to ask for help with your Java program (see the forums on java.sun.com, and many other places, for that), or to report bugs (see bugs.sun.com), or to propose a new language or API feature (see the JCP). MechanicsThese lists are run by the EZMLM mailing-list manager. To subscribe to the list at foo@openjdk.dev.java.net just send an empty message to foo-subscribe@openjdk.dev.java.net EZMLM supports a rich set of e-mail based interaction commands; for more details please see the manual. General lists
The general discussion list is unmoderated, for now. Every message sent to this list will be read by someone at Sun, but a reply to every message cannot be guaranteed. Development listsThese lists are for technical conversations about the development of specific OpenJDK components. All of the development lists are moderated, by real live humans. Anyone is welcome to send a message to a development list, but if the sender's e-mail address is not on the list of pre-approved posters then a moderator will have to approve the message before it's posted to the list. Correspondents who build a track record of polite and meaningful interactions may be added to the list of pre-approved posters at the discretion of the moderator.
