About Mail Daemon Replacement:
BeOS Mail Daemon replacement. Multiple-account, multiple-protocol, multi-tasking, multi-threaded, multiply cool!
This is a drop-in replacement for the BeOS mail_daemon and E-mail preferences app. This is beta software, so use it with care.
Current features beyond current daemon are:
- Multiple accounts
- Fetches, sends mail at once
- Better status window
- APOP authentication
- Check automatically only when PPP is up
- More flexibility in auto check settings
- Extendable, modular architecture
- Better handling of foreign charsets
- MAIL:account attribute creation and indexing

Details about this version:
*** ATTENTION ***
The package has been updated as of July, 6. If you downloaded it before this date, download it again as it now has some minor bug-fixes and if you never ran the original mail_daemon you won't get that message about the SMTP server not being configured anymore.

This should be the last v1.0.0 beta release. After this one we probably will do a RC and, then, we will be releasing the final version. Work on v2.0.0 already started (and that's exactly why it took that long to release this new beta).

- Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers are now configured per account.
- Leave messages on server now works as expected.
- You can select your default acount from the Deskbar menu (fixed).
- Add-on loading problem under BONE seems to be fixed now.
- Various other bug-fixes and performance improvements.
IMAP will have to wait for v2.0.0 as it doe snot fit in the current architeture we are using without some ugly hacks. SMTP Auth should be present in the next (RC) version.
Source is not available for this version as both the 1.0.0 and 2.0.0 tree are using the same directory hierarchy (i.e. it is a mess). If you *REALLY* need the source, email us and we will send it to you.
A PPC version should be up as soon as Nathan notices I released beta 5. :)
