About OpenTracker:
OpenTracker is a free, open-source version of the Tracker and Deskbar, the two applications that power the BeOS desktop.
Use extreme caution upon making the decision as to whether or not you will install OpenTracker. I have tested it successfully on my computers, but that does not necessarily mean it will work for every single installation of BeOS on the planet. If there are problems you need to know how to recover your system. I am not responsible for what you decide to do with this, if that scares you, don't download it.
TIP: To evade total loss of control you may want to download an application launcher, if one of the choices is Terminal, you can easily repair the damage. (Terminal tutorial - learn basics about BeOS' bash shell command line interface)
BeFore you begin make sure you have backup copies of--at the very least--the following original files. The installation will ask if you'd like to back them up.
- /boot/beos/system/Tracker
- /boot/beos/system/Deskbar
- /boot/beos/system/lib/libtracker.so
