Universal Retention Mechanism (URM)
The Universal Retention Mechanism (URM) supports integration of the following Intel processor packing types: Single Edge Contact Cartridge (SECC), Single Edge Processor Package (SEPP), and SECC-2. The URM uses the same Retention Mechanism Attach Mount (RMAM) as the original Pentium® II processor retention mechanism.
To help you use the Universal Retention Mechanism, we provide an overview of the versions available, suggestions for installing the URM pieces, information on motherboard keepout zones, tips on inserting and removing the Intel® Celeron Processor (SEPP), and tips on inserting and removing the Pentium® II Processor in SECC form factor. Tips on inserting/removing the Pentium II Processor in SECC-2 form factor are available with the MA Tips SECC-2 information.
