Streaming Web Video
Intel's Streaming Web Video software is used for encoding and decoding inter- and intranet video - either live or recorded - on workstations, servers and PC clients.
The encoding technology is tuned for high performance on Pentium® II and Pentium® II Xeon processors. Additionally, the technology enhances the viewing experience by applying additional filters and
by up-sampling video frames in real-time during playback
Developers will appreciate the significant performance gains of the encoder. The performance of Intel's Streaming Web Video encoder will lower the costs of entry for internet video "webcasting" and result in more video being produced on the Web. With this technology, live, real time and affordable encoding is possible for the first time. Viewers will see higher quality internet video. The decoding software makes use of smoothing, de-blocking and sharpening filters to enhance the viewing experience for consumers."
Applications and Products:
- Developers can now get Intel Streaming Web Video by downloading RealNetwork's release of RealSystem* G2. This release integrates Intel Streaming Web Video into RealPlayer* and RealPlayer Plus for viewing, and RealEncoder* and RealPublisher* for encoding.
