I get a lot of questions about release dates here at the IGN DVD desk, but I've really had a lot of people ask when Fight Club is coming out.
Lots and lots of people seemed to identify with this David Fincher flick, in which Brad Pitt and Edward Norton get into fights as a means of resisting the meaninglessness of modern consumerist American life.
Unfortunately, the Fight Club DVD has been delayed a number of times, but it's now set for a firm June 6 release. And at last, the specific features are coming to light.
As we thought, the Fight Club DVD is going to be a 2-disc set. The first disc will have the movie and four commentary tracks (one fewer than we previously reported, but still a lot!): one with David Fincher; one with Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter; one by screenwriter Jim Uhls and author of the novel Chuck Palahniuk; and one by the special effects guys.
These commentaries will be augmented by a multi-angle feature that you can use to check out discarded shots and angles and different angles on stunt scenes. Now THAT sounds cool.
Disc two will have deleted scenes and outtakes, trailers, featurettes, and a still image gallery.
No word on whether the alternate endings and the musical number we reported on previously will be included, but "a few surprises" are promised, so our fingers are still crossed.
Sounds like a package fans of this flick are really going to like, and find worth waiting for.
