30 baby elephants have been languishing for several months.

On September 22, 1999, Canadian federal
officials announced plans to lobby the U.S. Congress to amend the
Marine Mammal Protection Act to allow Canadian seal products to be
imported into the United States. The value of U.S. market access is
estimated to be as much as C$100 million.

community of Kokkare Bellur near Mysore, South India. Efforts have
been made by biologists from Mysore Amature Naturalists (M.A.N.) to
implement a recovery plan for the species, but they soon discovered
that the community who live in symbiotic harmony with the Spot-Billed
Pelicans were in as much risk as the pelicans."
