JavaPolis 2005 The week of Dec 12th to 16th was JavaPolis 2005, in Antwerp, Belgium. Many presentations are relevant to GlassFish in one way or another, but some are directly relevant, including the keynotes by Jeff Jackson and Graham Hamilton. Specific talks include Linda on Simplified EJB 3.0 and Advanced EJB 3.0, Roger on JSF 1.2, Inder on Java EE 5, Developer Day. Specs in Proposed Final Draft Most Java EE 5 specs are in Proposed Final Draft. A full list of specifications is available at the Java EE 5 Technologies Home page. The Application Server implemented by the GlassFish Community is tracking closely these specifications. A beta release will be available early next year, but developers that want to try earlier builds can get them from the download page.

GlassFish Announced Project GlassFish was launched in June 2005. The initial community announcement was followed later, during JavaOne 2005, with one releasing the code under an open source license (see press release and blogs by Jim Driscoll and Simon Phipp. Later Eduardo Pelegri-Llopart clarified that JWSDP is included in GlassFish, and Jim expanded on CDDL.
