The GlassFish project is an open source implementation of the Java EE 5 specifications. Until the specifications are final there is no final stable release available for the Java EE 5 platform. However,the GlassFish community provides milestone builds which implement the current version of the specifications and are useful for learning the latest technologies defined in Java EE 5. For stable, supported and deployable products we recommend the Sun Java System Application Server 8.1 product family.
SJS AS 9.0 PE - Latest Milestones
Sun Java System App Server 9.0 is for those customers that need the latest tested build. These builds include the latest technologies defined by the specifications but have not gone through rigorous testing and therefore not recommended for deployment. These builds are supported by the GlassFish community directly.

The most up-to-date FCS, supported and deployable in production, free J2EE 1.4 compatbile Application Server. Integrated Products
The SJS AS and Web Server are both integrated in the Java Enterprise System, which provides greater overall integration and system monitoring, increased security, manageability, and performance with Solaris 10 support, broadened platform support for Windows 2003. The Java Enterprise System, Solaris 10, N1 and additional tools are also bundled in the Solaris Enterprise System.
