Most users are a bit apprehensive when it comes to multimedia. But it can be a lot easier than you think. It certainly is a lot of fun and really shows off all the bells and whistles of your computer and your skills.
Here is how you bring a QuickTime movie into PowerPoint:
- From the Insert menu choose Movies and Sounds.
- In the cascading menu choose Movie from file... to bring up the file browser dialog.
- Locate your movie file and click Open.
- Position and size the movie
frame to your liking.
When you make the presentation you can start the movie by clicking on it. However, most users prefer to have the movie start automatically when they reach that slide. Here is how you do that:
- Open the Custom Animation dialog from the Slide Show menu.
- Select the movie you want to start automatically.
- In the Timing tab click Animate and Automatically.
- If you want the movie to wait before it starts enter the delay in seconds.
- Click OK to close the dialog.
If you master these simple techniques you can add pizzazz to otherwise mundane presentations. Motion and sound on a computer is still relatively new for most people, which makes your presentation look even more impressive.
