Our Out-of-Print Search Department will search for books that Powell's does not have in stock and which are no longer available from their publisher.

We search for your book by checking the used books received every day at Powell's, circulating the title wanted among our own network of used book dealers, and using online matching services. There is no charge for this service.

Searches take usually eight to ten weeks. We communicate the result of your search at the close of that time period by either postcard or email. While we cannot guarantee the success of a search, a good faith attempt is made to find every book requested. Having both the author and title significantly increases the chance of finding the book wanted; while we are able to discover some of that information by our own research its accuracy is your responsibility.

Books found will cost at least $25.

To initiate a search, we need this information:

• Your name
• Mailing address
• Telephone Number.
• Author and title of the book you wish to have found.

Send the information to opweb@powells.com. You will receive an automatic confirmation by email. A report on the success or failure of your search will be available in eight to ten weeks.
