C&C: Renegade is selected as a runner up in IGN PC's "Best PC Game" and the "Best PC Action Game" categories in their Best of E3 2000 Awards. Looks like Renegade is goin' to be a real blast receiving all those positive feedbacks from the people who have seen the E3.

KingZeus from CnCRenegade.com has found out that PC Gamer has published their "Game Guide 2000", which is their picks on what games to look out in this year. And Command & Conquer: Renegade is the second one listed in the action game. Here's an excerpt:

The combination of stealth and action lets you understand the brutal conflict from a single commando's perspective - backed by gadgets galore, extreme firepower, and graphics that cause nosebleeds if viewed for too long (try it). We've got very high hopes for this genuine contender for game of the year.

Over at CnCRenegade.com's forum, Mike Bell from Westwood Studios has posted about the new Renegade preview movie. Here's what he said:

Just to clarify, the 50 sec movie posted on the new Renegade preview site is composed of bits and pieces taken from the computer-generated intro for the game. All of the artwork is pre-rendered, i.e. none of it is in-game using the game's engine. When the actual game ships, most of the cutscenes will be generated using the in-game engine.

Now I get it. So this means that the actual game will look much more better than the preview.

Westwood's Red Alert 2 preview site has updated with more information on units, structures and game info. It also has some interviews with Westwood's employees (to be exact, Red Alert 2's creators). Here are some Q&A with Harvard Bonin, producer of Red Alert 2:

Q: Will we be seeing some of the units from the original Red Alert?
A: Sure! We wanted to bring back a few favorites like the Spy or the Iron Curtain. Even though some are back, they've been upgraded a lot from the previous game. The Spy, for instance, does a lot of different things this time around. If you sneak a spy into the enemy's power plant, their power is shut down for 30 seconds. Or you can sneak him into an enemy's ore refinery and steal all their cash. You can get him to steal enemy technologies combine them with your own to get brand new units unavailable anywhere else in the game. We also beefed up the whole Chrono and Iron Curtain technologies.
Q: How about the infamous Tanya?
A: She's back and as bad as ever. We call her "All-Terrain Tanya," because she does everything. She swims through rivers and oceans, blows up ships and buildings. She's deadlier than ever and has the same saucy personality.

CGOnline has a short Renegade preview. Here's a snippet:

As Havoc, gamers can plant C4 explosives, zip around on a rocket bike, fry people with a flame tank, call in for air support, etc. The game provides several settings from tight corridors to wide-open fields. The goal is to immerse players into a situation where they feel that a real war is being fought around them and that they are a mere participant and not the overall driving force behind it.

Kev from TFARenegade has found out that over at AGN, they have some gameplay footage where you see Havoc shooting down an apache, using the sniper rifle, driving a truck as well as loads of other things. However, I haven't seen it so I'm not sure of how it is like. But if you would like to take a look at the gameplay footage, follow these steps:

1. First go to the agn website. and click on the >>Launch<< near the top.
2. Then click on South Hall and then EA.
3. When the little menu slides out click on Game Play and then one of the links to renegade.

Well, sorry about the long cut, as that is the only way to get in.

Tanksman from GenRen has converted the original Renegade movie (which is in MPEG format and is 8MB large) to the Real Media format, which is only 1.5MB (That is a few times smaller than 8MB!) So if you haven't seen or downloaded the new Renegade movie, I highly suggest you go to GenRen to download the smaller version.
