System Requirements | Posted @ 9:43 PM PST by GammyLeg
CNC-Central have asked the ever-so-busy Aaron Cohen some questions. Here is one that concerns Renegade
Kaje: How high will the requirements for Tiberian Twilight be? For Renegade?
Aaron: For Renegade, we won't be sure until we do more testing, but a base PII is a good bet. The rest is still being looked at by the tech guys. For the next C&C strategy game, it is impossible to say at this point.

New Forum | Posted @ 1:57 AM PST by GammyLeg
Yes, the old forum has been trashed. Never fear, a bigger, better and oh-so-cooler one is now here. Let me explain.

CNCNZ have put up a CNCNZ networks forum, and part of it is the Renegade Online forum (us being part of the CNCNZ network and all). The forum can be accessed by either here or CNCNZ, therefore increasing the traffic, which in turn will get any questions you posted answered quicker.

The forum doesnt require signing up for, and is extremely user friendly. So go post about anything, right now!!

C&C: Tribes Q&A | Posted @ 11:32 PM PST by J7wild
Lone Soldier had a Q&A with Lennex heres the first 2 Q&A.
WildKard: What first inspired you to make the C&C: Tribes conversion?
Lennex: Well, I was looking at as much information about the up coming Renegades CNC game from Westwood, and noticed that its quite close to HALO, or even more, Tomb Raider. What I wanted to see is a CnC game from a First Person perspective in which you have the option of buidling your base (ala Battlezone) or being a basic infantry man. Fortunatly, I could do this because of the ease of customizing Tribes, and because of the ease of implementing these things into the game.

WildKard: How many people do you have working on C&C: Tribes?
Lennex: Well, lots of people have supported this MOD, but the actual development team consists of: Kwire, IC, fLiP, Gib Wanker, $Lycer, Matthais, Ice, and many more, those people are the major players in this team.

E3 Press Release | Posted @ 3:47 PM PST by GammyLeg
FoO recieved this little Press Release from Westwoods' Chris
PRESS ADVISORY
APRIL 12th, 2000

With E3 2000 just around the corner, Westwood wanted to make sure that all members of the press have been invited to setup an appointment. Our slots are starting to fill-up, but we are always happy to make room.

Press and attendees will experience C&C up close and personal in C&C Renegade. Westwood's 3D action game puts players in the role of the original Commando, a.k.a. Havoc, the one-man army made famous in the first Command & Conquer. Also, Westwood will shock the world with two yet to be announced products that will be on display at the show.

If you want to make an appointment, just give me a call 702-228-4040, ext. 339 or send an e-mail. We hope to see you there!

Thanks

Chris Rubyor
Westwood Studios
Its a bit of a shame there isn't an e3nz (or any game expo in NZ for that matter). Oh well.

New Renegade Screens | Posted @ 11:10 AM PST by Gammyleg
I have been away (again) but I am back, for good. I was out rowing again, and just my luck, the day I leave, tonnes and tonnes of Renegade news comes pouring in.

Anyway, GenRen have found these screenshots (from where, god knows), and they are small but awesome.

There are more available over at Generation Renegade.

Renegade Q&A | Posted @ 12:00 AM PST by Cyber-Ek
Over at Renegade 2000 they have an interview with Aaron Cohen. Here's an excerpt:
HiVoLt: First of all, what stages are you up to now with Renegade?
Aaron Cohen: Lots of level building, art creation and multi-player experimentation.

HiVoLt: Will there be an auto-save feature? Like it will auto-save itself at certain parts of the game.
Aaron Cohen: Maybe. We're still working out the details of how we want the save features
to work.
Go to Renegade 2000 for the rest.

Commando Profile | Posted @ 11:02 PM PST by Cyber-Ek
Over at Generation Renegade, they have a profile on the commando in Renegade. Here's an excerpt:
Captain Nick Parker. Codename: 'Havoc.' Large explosions are his forte. Havoc hates being told what to do, and often has a hard time following orders. He prefers to work alone. On those occasions when he has an assist team, he never leaves anyone behind. Not because he cares, particularly he just doesnąt like loose ends. Havoc has a profound sense of loyalty to the GDI cause, and will use just about any and all means to accomplish his objectives Š especially if it requires bending the rules.

Head over to Generation Renegade for the rest.

Ignatio? | Posted @ 10:35 PM PST by Gammyleg
I have had one hell of a day. My Windows 98 decided to pack it in, so I had to reinstall that, which ended up being a mission. But its better now. Anyway, during the time that it was ever so slowly installing, I was reading the Tiberian Sun booklet, and I noticed a mention of our good friend, Dr. Mobius, only his name was Dr. Ignatio Moebius. I managed to laugh for the rest of the Win98 installation. It does, however bring up a topic, is his last name spelt Mobius or Moebius? On TD it was without the "e" but in the TS booklet it is with. Possibly a typo.

3DGameGear Preview of Renegade | Posted @ 7:53 AM PST by Cyber-Ek
CNCNZ has discovered a preview for Renegade at 3DGameGear. Here's a clip:
Arguably the most popular gaming series ever, the Command and Conquer universe is expanding into the 3rd person action genre. But will Westwood’s latest offering, C&C Renegade, be just another Tomb Raider knock-off or something more? Our in-depth preview deals out the goods.
-Thanks to CnC Renegade for this info

No News | Posted @ 10:21 PM PST by Gammyleg
I haven't posted much over the last couple of days, because I have been doing over the sections on the site. The only major thing you will probably notice is I am starting profiles on the staff page (only three are filled in at the moment).

I have found some more updaters, although I am still accepting applications. To apply click here.

Unfortunately no real news, so if you have any, you can submit it here.

Making Renegade: A correct decision? | Posted @ 11:48 PM PST by J7wild
Hivolt from Renegade2000 had writen a article heres a bit of it.
When the first game in the C&C series (Tiberian Dawn) was released, the whole earth was shaking. Almost everyone owns a copy of the best-selling RTS game. After sometime, Red Alert was out. It's a C&C game but everything in the game is different. The storyline, which is set in the World War II, does not have anything to do with Tiberian Dawn. Instead of Tiberium being the resources, Ores are needed in order to stay alive. The units and structures are also different. Although Red Alert isn't a sequel to Tiberian Dawn, the earth shook more.

Staff Needed | Posted @ 8:08 PM PST by Gammyleg
The time has come once again to find more staff. The two positions available are:
News Updaters: We need a few more people who can update news as it comes in. To get this position, all you need are basic HTML skills, and dedication. Past experience is a plus.

Article Writers: All you need to become an article writer for Renegade Online is good english skills, an opinion, and to be a follower of Command and Conquer.
To apply for a job, make your way to the job application section, available by clicking here.

Also, as you may have noticed, there is a new scroller up the top of the page. I put it up because the old one was pretty hard to read and went all crazy with medium text setting.

Mini Survey | Posted @ 2:18 PM PST by Gammyleg
In my eternal quest to improve this site, I have set up a mini-survey. It is completely anonymous, and will only take about 1 or 2 minutes at the most to fill in, so please fill it in. It is available by clicking here.

C&C: Tribes | Posted @ 12:49 PM PST by Gammyleg
In case you dont know, that is the name of the Tribes2C&C mod. While poking around their site, I came across this neat render of the orca, and decided I just had to post it.
Click the above image to see it full size. Looks pretty good huh? If it turns out really good, I might go and get Tribes. To read more on the mod, click here.

Interview with Aaron | Posted @ 2:36 AM PST by J7wild
Tiberium Sun had a interview with Aaron, heres a bit of it.
Darkvirus: Whats the release date for Renegade looking like? still september? (NOTE: OK so I assumed it was September)

Aaron: Did we say September at some point? We'll try and keep it a broader "this year" until we have a few more things firmed up. Look for a lot more info after E3.
