Everybuddy is designed to become a Universal Instant Messaging client desigend to seamlessly integrate all existing Instant Messaging clients and provide a single consistant user interface. Currently, Everybuddy supports sending and reciveing messages in both AOL and ICQ. Yahoo and possibly MSN support is planned to be incorporated in future releases.

GNU Zebra is free software (distributed under GNU Generic Public License) that
manages TCP/IP based routing protocols. It supports BGP-4 protocol as described in
RFC1771 (A Border Gateway Protocol 4) as well as RIPv1, RIPv2 and OSPFv2. Unlike
traditional, Gated based, monolithic architectures and even the so-called
tin is a threaded NNTP and spool based UseNet newsreader for a variety of platforms.

InterNetNews is a complete Usenet system. The cornerstone of the package is innd, an NNTP server that multiplexes all I/O.
Think of it as an nntpd merged with the B News inews, or as a C News relaynews that reads multiple NNTP streams.
Newsreading is handled by a separate server, nnrpd, that is spawned for each client. Both innd and nnrpd have some slight
variances from the NNTP protocol (although in normal use you will never notice); see the manpages. INN separates hosts that
feed you news from those that have users reading news. If you need to support a mixed environment you will have to do some
extra work; the installation manual gives some hints.
Procmail

Procmail can be used to create
mail-servers, mailing lists, sort your incoming mail into separate folders/files (real convenient when subscribing to one or
more mailing lists or for prioritising your mail), preprocess your mail, start any programs upon mail arrival (e.g. to generate
different chimes on your workstation for different types of mail) or selectively forward certain incoming mail automatically to
someone.

LXRun

performance tools and utilities and you can easily build in more. It's great for
finding bottlenecks in Solaris 2.x performance

The Written Word

The Written Word compiles and configures freely-available
software for Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, and 7/SPARC, IRIX 6.2 and
6.5, HP-UX 10.20, and Digital UNIX 4.0D. Software is
packaged using the vendor-provided package-management
system to make installation easy. Packages are freely-
redistributable and are available at ftp.thewrittenword.com.

Masqdialer

The Masqdialer server sits on a unix box and will initiate network connections at the
requests of clients. The server will either accept or deny the request based on IP address
and username and password authentication. The Masqdialer server originally would
only dial out modems using pppd, but now it has a wide array of uses, and essentially
any network connection can be used.
The Big Brother System

Big Brother is a combination of monitoring methods. Unlike SNMP where information is just collected and devices
polled, Big Brother is designed in such a way that each local system broadcasts it's own information to a central
location. Simultaneously, Big Brother also polls all networked systems from a central location. This creates a highly
efficient and redundant method for proactive network monitoring.

The Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) is a tool to monitor the
traffic load on network-links. MRTG generates HTML pages containing
GIF images which provide a LIVE visual r. MRTG is based
on Perl and C and works under UNIX and Windows NT. MRTG is being
successfully used on many sites around the net.

Solaris Porting Project

This is a great place to get freeware packages for Solaris 2.5, 2.6 and 7
(SPARC and X86). They are all in pkgadd format,
so there is no need to compile any source. Good for getting started on a newly installed system.
