Spec Ops 2 is the sequel to the genre-busting
Spec Ops and the multiplayer add-on pack Spec Ops: Rangers Lead the Way.The first, genre-creating military tactical sim, Spec Ops 2
is full of improvements. More polygons, dynamic lighting, multiplayer support and much
much more.
Rather than just the stereotypical killing
aliens/monsters from another dimension/planet/gate of hell, Spec Ops set itself apart from
the rest of the shooter genre by incorporating real world military combat, in actual
hot-spot, real world locations, with the actual weapons and tactics used by the US armed
services. This provides gamers and military enthusiasts with one of the best games that
they have ever laid their hands on.
SpecOps 2 is being developed by Zombie and will be
published by Ripcord Games. Current scheduled release date is Q4 of '99 (U.S.). Demo is
planned to be released Q4 '99.
