Ed Bott is an award-winning computer journalist who has written
extensively about Windows for PC Computing and other magazines. Experience:
Ed has been working with Windows for nearly a decade, as a best-selling author
of more than 12 books on Windows and Office, including Practical Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional,
Special Edition Using Windows 98, and two editions of Using Windows 95,
all published by Que. As senior contributing editor (and resident Windows
expert) at PC Computing magazine, Ed has reviewed each new version of Windows
since the early 1990s, and he has written countless hands-on articles. He's
personally responsible for the annual Windows SuperGuide, a comprehensive
collection of tips, tricks, and undocumented Windows secrets that appears in PC
Computing each fall.
Education: Back when programming a computer meant carrying stacks
of punch cards to the mainframe room, Ed
spent four years at UCLA, where he majored in communication studies and
journalism.
From Ed: Thanks for visiting! My goal is to make this site a one-stop
resource packed with up-to-date information, down-to-earth writing, and
practical advice to help you make the most of Windows, regardless of which
version you use. If you've run across a baffling Windows problem, send it
along--I'll try to cover it right here.
