Open Source on the Desktop

The AbiSource project is developing a suite of Open Source desktop productivity applications. Our first application is underway and it is a word processor called AbiWord. AbiWord is available for all to use, free of charge.

• 2 June 1999 -- AbiWord named "Best of Linux Winner" at Dave Central.

• 19 May 1999 -- AbiSource ships its first products. T-Shirts and Preview CDs now available for sale.

• 1 March 1999 -- AbiSource introduces its latest addition to the team

• 28 January 1999 -- Did Microsoft's Paul Maritz, senior vice-president of platforms and applications, endorse AbiSource? He said that we are developing a "very high-quality word processor", and he said it under oath, so it must be true! ;-)
