Test, Modeling and Simulation Systems

  • Unit Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (UNIRAM)—ARINC developed this methodology to model a system’s configuration and operational characteristics. For more information contact Harry Brown via email at hbrown@arinc.com or phone 410-266-4497.

  • Unit Spares Analysis Model (UNISAM)—ARINC developed UNISAM to evaluate the relative worth of sparing alternatives in selecting the optimum sparing mix within user-specified constraints. For more information contact Harry Brown via email at hbrown@arinc.com or phone 410-266-4497.

  • System Testability and Maintenance Program (STAMP®)—This ARINC-developed system provides an environment for modeling and assessing a system’s testability characteristics. It provides detailed analysis reports on system testability and develops static fault-isolation strategies (i.e., fault trees) optimized by a large number of cost criteria and constraints. For more information, contact John W. Sheppard via e-mail at sheppard@arinc.com or phone 410-266-2099.

  • Portable Interactive Troubleshooter (POINTERTM)—ARINC’s POINTER system uses adaptive optimization and reasoning techniques with models developed in STAMP to provide on-line, interactive diagnosis of system faults. POINTER has been used as a manual troubleshooter, a diagnostic controller in automatic test equipment (ATE), and a diagnostic reasoner for aircraft built-in test (BIT). For more information, contact John W. Sheppard via e-mail at sheppard@arinc.com or phone 410-266-2099.

  • Test Engineering—ARINC pioneered much of the early research in testability and diagnostics, and this information was published in a complete and cohesive form in 1994. System Test and Diagnosis is the first book on the theory and application of advanced analysis techniques in system test. For more information contact John W. Sheppard via e-mail at sheppard@arinc.com or phone 410-266-2099.
