Canadian Literature: A Quarterly of Criticism and Review

Article:

We are interested in articles on all subjects relating to writers and writing in Canada; we do not adhere to one theoretical approach alone. Articles should follow current MLA bibliographic format. We require three copies of the text. The Author's name should be removed from two of the copies as well as all references identifying the author throughout the text. We do not accept e-mail submissions of articles. Confirmation of receipt of manuscript articles will be sent if an e-mail address is provided .

Poetry:

We accept a few poems by Canadian writers for each issue (see recent copies of the journal for samples.) Submissions of poems may be made either by conventional mail or by e-mail. In order to ensure correct formatting in print, a hard copy of any poem(s) accepted from e-mail submissions must be sent to the journal by conventional mail.

Fiction:

We do NOT publish fiction.

Book Reviews :

We do not accept unsolicited book reviews. Canadian Literature reviews scholarly works discussing all aspects of Canadian Literature and culture as well as selections on scholarly works on related subjects such as post-colonalism. Other areas include fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry and drama.

Basic Requirements:

Article and poetry submissions must be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE), with Canadian stamps or international coupons for outside Canada. Submissions that are not accompanied by a SASE will not receive a response. However, for articles without SASE, articles will be kept on file for six weeks after the date of the letter of rejection, then destroyed. All accepted articles, reviews, and poems must be available on diskette, preferably in Rich Text Format or Microsoft Word 98, though ASCII is acceptable. We can translate PC files but would prefer the disk copies in MacIntosh format.
