VXA Evaluation Program Ecrix asked
some top Linux users from ISPs, dot-coms, and Telcos to test the VXA-1.
Not in the lab, not with easy to manipulate data,
but in the real world, with real world pressures,
and with real data. Over 90 percent of the test sites ran Linux, but the VXA-1 was also tested on NT, Solaris and others.
After 30 days,
we asked them all to provide us with some feedback on how it went.
They made one thing perfectly clear: Not one of them was about to give
the VXA drive back. Here are some of the other results:

"This is a great solution for Linux administrators. We highly
recommend it. We plan on recommending it to customers."
"Great speed. We actually got the performance promised in
the specs. Better than experiences with DLT and DAT."
|
 |
"It saved us, as our other tape unit
failed, but the Ecrix drive ran perfectly, and we were able to
restore the system after it was compromised by a cracker."
"The speed of backup is very impressive and has allowed me to go from
backing up my data weekly to doing it nightly."
