Improvement made:

NVIDIA and AMD worked cooperatively to address this issue and offer the following solution. Guillemot's version 3.62 release driver, based on NVIDIA's version 3.62 reference driver, detects this core logic chip set and optimizes system settings to correct this issue. News - [ 3:07 PM PST] - MetalMan
The news is slow these past few days in the GTA World, I guess it is because everyone is playing GTA2! =) I picked up a few copies over the weekend, my friend picked up the PSX version. We played it on PSX for awhile, but I like my computer better (faster and better graphic wise). It seems the cars are too slow in GTA2 compared to GTA, GTA2 does have some awesome new cars, but they dont seem to go fast enough for me, with the exception of the Cop Car. Well, I'm off to go play some more GTA2! As always, feel free to email me at metalman@strategyxtreme.com with any news or reviews/opinions of GTA2, I'm also looking for cheats if you have any. Thanks!

GTA2 Development Suite News - [ 1:59 PM PST] - Jeh
Nick Jones from GTA2Mods sent us this news about the GTA2 Development Suite!
"If anyone has been keeping an eye on the site, they will have heard of a
program I have been creating called GTA2Mods Development Suite (DS). The
idea is that it acts as a front end to all editing, packaging and installing
of modifications for GTA2. This will make it easy for everyone to get
involved in the GTA community. For this to be a success, I need backing from the community, especially people who are developing or think of developing an editing program for GTA2, because I want DS to support it. Please get in contact with me - my email is nickjones@eidosnet.co.uk, or check out my new software site at www.gta2mods.co.uk/software. The program's beta release will be on the 12th of this month, so please get back to me ASAP. Thanks, Nick"

We're currently adding some new servers here at the Xtreme Network. What this means is that, while our technicians work their magic, we're unable to receive any Xtreme Network related email, which includes any emails you may have sent to this site.Once our hardware additions are complete you should notice that our sites load a little faster, and if you run a hosted site on our servers then you should notice an increase in FTP speed too!
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. We should be back to normal operation sometime today!

Today's GTA2 Reviews! - [ 1:58 PM PST] - Jeh
We have a couple more GTA2 reviews for you today:
- GTA2 Review @ Nice One/GameSpy: 88%
For God's sake, if you run over a line of Elvis Impersonators you are greeted with the legend "Elvis Has Left The Building!" and given copious amounts of money.
Little touches like that please young Mugwum :)
GTA2 Review @ Telefragged: No Score
The police are much improved too. You can now hide from them if being chased, and they will just sail right on by, leaving you to lay low until the heat dies off. Plus the Cops are alot tougher, kill enough of them and they will send in the swat teams, kill even more and in sail the National Guard. Very cool. The Telefragged review was a good one, no score to speak of though. Thank to Blues for the link to this one!

Couple of GTA2 Reviews - [ 1:19 PM PST] - Jeh
Thank to Blues for these review heads up:- GTA2 Review @ Gamerush: 88%
I wouldn't usually start a review commenting on a game's sound effects and music but GTA 2 is an exception as it offers up something that little bit special. As soon as the games installed you have a barrage of street life imagery and hard hitting sounds that blast you right in the face and leaves you sitting wanting to delve deeper into the game.As the menu screen loads up the first thing you hear is what sounds like a radio show, truth be known it actually is. The radio then cranks into a hard hitting punk track with some , shall we say, strong lyrics and you're going to be in for a treat.
GTA2 Review @ GibWorld: 68%
GTA2 offers everything that wasn't in the original and more. It is fun, loud, rude, violent, and has bags of gameplay in the single player mode. I couldn't help but think, however, that it offers very little innovation over the original, and ends up being little more than a glorified mission pack. That isn't a bad thing in itself, but if you got fed up of the original game and are looking for new experiences, I would seriously advise that you look somewhere else. The latter of the two reviews is scored low due to the multiplayer.
Quantum9 GTA2 Review - [ 1:03 PM PST] - Jeh
Quantum9.com has posted it's GTA2 review. To be honest, they love the game as a Single player venture, but mark it very poorly in the Multiplayer department, and as a result the Replay value is marked down too.
This game offers EVERYTHING that GTA didn't, it has new gameplay, Cops that aren't God's, some new weapons, and some better realism to the world. (you aren't the only criminal in the city.. there are muggers, gang members, Car Thiefs..) so, while it falls VERY short on multiplayer, it might be worth playing through the single player to see what cooky things this game has to offer. And some of the missions are fun to play simply because of innovation.
So, is this game worth your time? Yes... Your Money? Maybe.... I guess it all depends on what you weigh a game on, and personally, if a game runs out on multiplayer... Then it's doomed to get boring from the start.
It's all the reviewers perspective. Personally I don't consider bad multiplayer to be a cause to ditch the game. Single player is still a very important part of any game, and GTA2 has it :)
