Our company's product uses a bit of java. Our biggest problem is that our linux version causes netscape to crash severly. Every body knows that netscape has huge java problems on linux, but netscape is, unfortunately, our only hope right now at a product for linux.
Basically what we're looking for is any possible solution(s) to this java problem on netscape for linux...

Does anyone know if there is a mailing list for Linux on SGI/Intel, for the Visual Workstation, just as there is one for Linux on SGI/MIPS?
Also, has anyone run VMWare for Linux on the Visual Workstation?

Can anyone recommend a good X email program? (besides kmail, pine, mutt, elm...which i do not like)
there seems to be a lack of quality email programs out there.
i just want a simple email program similar to eudora, or pegasus on windows.

I know there are a lot of web sites are hosted by linux w/ Apache web servers. An old 486 PC would probably be good enough for a DNS server. It is a good desktop OS for people don't like Windoze. What do you use your Linux servers for? Please share with us your experience with your Linux boxes.

OK Has anyone used this "All-in-One" AT mainboard in a Linux/Unix environment before. It is technically SiS530 AT. I can get it up and full functions under Windblowz98. I ran through all jumpers settings and BIOS changes but my installs always fail after HD format and just before packages install. Help!!

I got KDM up and running now, but the "Shutdown" feature doesn't work properly. In KControl, on the Login Manager->Sessions tab, I set the Shutdown control to "Root Only".
However, now when I click on "Shutdown..." in KDM, I can enter the password, but the "OK" button is ghosted out.
Any ideas?
BTW, with RedHat 6...

I'm having a strange problem since loading Redhat 6.1 - When I try to do "ifup ppp0" the hdd thrashes and the modem lights blink like crazy. I examined /var/log/messages and I'm getting :
*
can't locate modeule char-major-108
The remote system (ppp0) is required to authenticate itself butI couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to do so.
*
This just loops with the same error...

This might be a silly question, but has anyone had any experience with trying to run Linux on the AMB K7 series of chips?
Thinking of upgrade mobos/CPU's and wonder if this is an option since all the press on the K7 seems very positive.
