Here is what others have had to say.

"

Dear whoever,

I'd just like to say thank-you for what you are aiming for. I started My Linux adventure last Friday and have found it so far a painful, intimadting and frustrating affair. So far my installation has crashed my hard drive (had to buy a new one...), buy a new non Win modem, get an army of books (all very self rightous) andleft me unable to install software succesfully and generally 'done ma heid right in' (as we say in Scotland. I have had some minor sucesses... installing my new modem, get linked to my ISP, learning slowly about Apache.

NHF's are a great, fantastic and welcome boost to my morale. Thank you for creating this resource and I hope that it goes from strength to strength. I have you to thank for keeping my interest in Linux alive."

"I think the NHF is the best idea to come around since the how-tos. The better readability and common user approach is perfect."
"I work in the ---- ----- at the Marine Corps ---- ----- in Quantico, VA. We have some simulation programs that run on Linux, and until recently it was something of a "black box." We have begun installing Linux on some of our other computers in order to learn it and to experiment with it. While I have been an operator and maintainer (both network software and hardware) on Windows systems for several years, my familiarity with Unix-type systems was minimal at best. Your web site has been extremely helpful in getting us up and running, and has directly contributed to our success."

"Thank you for putting this site out there. 2 major questions were answered (v3 install and modem). It's nice to go somewhere to ask these questions without fear of sounding dumb. Keep up the good work. I will pass this site on to friends."

"ALL POWER TO NEWBIES!"
"great site, great idea... cool!"
"Excellent site! I'm very relieved to find NHFs. How can newbies be expected to know to do some of the things suggested in man pages and howtos? I mean, some of it is rather self-explainatory, but a lot of it is absolutely not."
"Sensei your the coolest!" (ok so I made this one up)
