Well another week, another log. I went a little crazy
this week and decided to venture outside. Yes, I know
its sounds dangerous, but somebodys gotta go get the
nachos and bean dip around here! After I got back from
the pool/bean dippery, I sat back in "the chair,"
as linuxgirl likes to call it, and ended up stumbling
across a nice little app called gism.
I said app people! Strange name for such a tiny

Gism
Techincal Stuff:
- GISM charts CPU, Disk, and all active net interfaces
automatically. An on/off button and online timer for the
PPP interface is provided. It includes meters for memory
and swap usage as well as a system uptime monitor. Clicking
left or right frame slides GISM shut to gain screen space,
autoscaling grid lines with configurable grid line resolution,
LED indicators for the net interfaces and configurable
chart sizes. Two example alternate themes are included
as well.

Well another weekend means another movie. This weekend I
checked out an IMAX film called Alaska. If you are fortunate
enough to live near an IMAX theatre go and see this movie.
The images are amazing and of course the cinematography
is awe-inspiring as well.
The movie starts out talking about the how the ice age
bridged the continents of North America and Asia together
and slowly takes you through different time periods of Alaska.
Following this brief section of the film, Alaska seamlessly
follows the different life cycles of the animal life that
envelope Alaska. Everything from salmon spawning, to bears,
to wolves, to whales, etc. If your into wildlife films then
obviously this is a no brainer.
I rated Alaska the IMAX movie: 4.5 chops
and I also gave gism 4.5 chops (the french judge
scored the extra .5 point)
The rating system used at Linuxnewbie.org consists of a
highly complex techincal data set that is statistically
generated over a skew of linear probes comparing that with
nuclear composites and then multiplied by 3. After that
timely process, I basically give my opinions and rate a
number of chops out of a possible 5.
