Backing up stuff Part 2

In part 1 of this series, I made a mistake. The first backup script we discussed is fine for not running in an automated manner, just not optimal possibly. But there is no danger in missing a sunday and then not being able to recover from a hard drive crash as long as you have a full backup and the latest incremental backup. But that doesn't mean it's a perfect script. Probably no script is. No backup method is perfect but then again, the idea is to balance your inconvenience with something that gives you a secure feeling of knowing your data is safe.

In this article, we will take a more in depth look at the second script presented in part_1. But before doing that, it would probably be nice to discuss some theory of backing up for those that aren't on top of the terminology. And even for those that are, it helps for us to be on the same ground.
