First stop: Home Page. To help you become more familiar with what it's like to work at Microsoft, we'll highlight different areas of employment each month. Some of these home page articles will feature regular people with cool jobs and cool people with regular jobs; highlights on Microsoft's community organizations; and the latest Microsoft employee group events, such as kayaking, skiing, rock climbing, or wine-tastings. Be sure to check back regularly for the latest features. If you a miss a month or more, that's okay — you can check out the Feature Story Archives for a complete list of articles.
Second stop: Career Paths. We've also included information to guide you through the many job possibilities at Microsoft, such as descriptions of our job categories, job titles, and products. For example, if you're currently a Design Engineer at "Widgets.com," you can find out if your job encompasses the same kinds of responsibilities as those at Microsoft or if another title would really be the perfect fit.
Third stop: Life at Microsoft. But your job title and the group you work with is just the tip of the iceberg. Find out more about what you really want to know — what's it like to work at Microsoft? To live in the Northwest? What kinds of benefits do Microsoft employees receive? What's the company's philosophy? You can find out the answers to these questions and more through the Life at Microsoft section, which includes links to cool sites in the Northwest, what it's like to work at Microsoft, benefits information, and our commitment to diversity.
Fourth stop: Locations. If you want to work for Microsoft anywhere in the world, check out our Locations section. You can read about the corporate campus in Redmond and what it's like to live here or find out about job profiles on opportunities all around the United States. You can also link to our international sites to see what's available there. Either way, there's bound to be a Microsoft location for you.
Fifth stop: More Info. This is just what it sounds like — more info than we've already given you! Find out about other cool Microsoft sites — like the MBA site, the Corporate Museum, Microsoft Press Pass (a font of information!), and even Bill Gates' home page. Beginning next month, this is where the Feature Story archive will be housed, too.
Sixth stop: Search & Apply. Now get ready for some serious job hunting. Find the position that's right for you with our new Search & Apply tool. It's designed to help you streamline your job search by providing useful information each step of the way. You prioritize which search options are important to you — whether it's location, job title, job category, or the product you've simply got to be a part of. The Search tool gives you instant feedback and lets you narrow or broaden your search until you've found the perfect selection of job listings. When you've found one or more jobs that interest you, you can apply right away or save job listings to review later.
Seventh stop: Submit Resume. When you're ready to send your resume, your options are easy. If you're within the Search & Apply section, simply click on an Apply Now button and we'll step you through the process. Or, if you can't find a specific job listing that interests you, but you'd like to work at Microsoft, we'd love to hear from you! Use the Submit Resume button in the left navigation bar.
