YEAR 2000 COMPLIANCE July 14, 1999 Attention Microtest Customer: Microtest is aware of concerns regarding the Year 2000 problem and is working to create solutions for any date processing problems that do exist well in advance of January 1, 2000. Please be assured that Microtest is working diligently to assure that our products will utilize dates beyond December 31, 1999, as well as recognize Year 2000 as a leap year and correctly report the date February 29, 2000. Below is a summary of the Year 2000 compliance status for the Microtest Products. Network Attached Storage - Workgroup Products The following products are Year 2000 compliant: DiscZerver™ (internal)/DiscZerver™ DiscZerver™ (external)/DiscPort® 2 DiscZerver™ VT/DiscPort® VT DiscPort® Executive for/including intraNetWare/NT (version 5.51 or later) DiscPort® (version 5.51 or later) DiscPort® Plus (version 5.51 or later) DiscPort® XL (version 5.51 or later) DiscPort® Pro (version 5.51 or later) DiscPort® Tower (version 5.51 or later) DiscServ™ (version 5.51 or later) CD-Now!® (version 5.51 or later) DiscView® PRO Upgrade (version 5.51 or later) WebZerver™ (version 1.1 or later) Network Attached Storage - Enterprise Server Products In general, any Microtest Enterprise servers with AMI BIOS dates earlier than July 1, 1995 are not compliant and there is no upgrade path. All Enterprise servers with BIOS dates later than July 1, 1995 are Year 2000 compliant. Microtest has been shipping Enterprise Server hardware that is Year 2000 compliant since approximately July 1995. All Microtest AppSolute Server Solutions are Year 2000 compliant. All future releases of Enterprise Server hardware will be Year 2000 compliant. Microtest Year 2000 Compliance Page 2 of 2 Network Attached Storage - Enterprise Software Products Microtest’s Enterprise software products are currently Year 2000 compliant: LanCD™ 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 DiscPort® Executive 2.0, 2.1 DiscPort® HFS 1.0 Virtual-CD™ 1.0 CD Executive™ All future releases of Enterprise Software Products will be Year 2000 compliant. Network Management Products (Scanners and Cable Test Equipment) The following products recognize the Year 2000 and beyond: OMNIScanner™ OMNIScanner2™ OMNIFiber™ CertiFiber™ PentaScanner® 350 (version 5.X or later) PentaScanner® + (version 5.X or later) COMPAS™ MT Crimp for Windows Cable Management System™ (CMS) for Windows Scanlink™ In addition, the following products do not utilize date/time, deeming them already compliant with the Year 2000 and beyond: Cable Scanner® MT310 Scanner™ MT350 Scanner™ MICROSCANNER™ Multi-Pair Tester™ SimpliFiber™ Fiber Solution Kit™ PentaScanner (RJ-45 model) is not compliant with Year 2000. In order to obtain compliance, customers need to upgrade their unit(s) to PentaScanner + or PentaScanner 350. Please contact Microtest for information on upgrade options. The products LAN Assist® and MAP Assist® may not be fully Year 2000 compatible. Microtest has no current intentions of revising these products to be made fully compatible.
