|
OR News provides daily
information about the free software world: what's happening in the
main free software projects, what big companies are doing about free
software, where new interesting information can be found, what new
ideas are emerging out there. And of course, you can contribute and
comment.

- OR Source Repository: Direct

|
One of the features of free software is the availability of source
code. Zillons of lines of code are here waiting for you to learn
how real programs are done. A valuable resource for developers
looking for tested solutions to usual problems, for any programmer
wanting to browse other programmers' code, and for any casual user
interested in the internals of daily applications. And
it's all in easy to browse pages.
|
- OR Foro: Forums
for comments and discussions about free software.
|
The free software community is a very open one. Important discussions
in major projects are completely public, and contributions
are usually welcome. We want to provide some forums to facilitate
the exchange of
comments, ideas, and opinions, both about free software in general
and about the information provided in this site in particular.
Current discussion: Do you think that the free
software community lacked a site like Open Resources?
|
- OR Lists Archive: Mail
lists and newsgroups about
free software and free software applications.
|
Much of the activity, support and information about free software
is transmitted by mail lists. With this archiving service, we
want to provide a one-stop place for finding detailed info about
major free software projects.
|
- OR Web Search (still unavailable): Search for
anything related to free
software in dozens of WWW sites (including Open Resources).
- OR Software (still unavailable): Information about free
software packages.
- OR Services:
Miscellaneous services to the users of Open Resources.
- Subscription service to be informed by
e-mail of new information which we made available.
- Search
engine to find anything in our site
(including OR News, OR Magazine, OR Documents, and OR Lists).

If you are interested in free software, we are interested in
you! Please, let us know your opinion/suggestions about Open
Resources sending a message to
suggestions@openresources.com, or posting a note in the
comments forum.
|
We have to acknowledge the work of the many developers of free
software. Without their work Open Resources would not be
possible. Almost all
the software used to maintain this site is free (open source)
software. Some of the most visible packages are cited in the
areas where they are used, but lots of less-visible applications (too
many to acknowledge here) are used behind the scenes.
``Open Source'' is a trademark. See more info at
http://www.opensource.org.
