Reporting Bugs in Opera
We would like to hear from you if you have encountered an operational or display problem with Opera. However, before you submit a bug
report, please take note of the following:
- There are some Opera 4.0 beta known issues reported by Opera users. Please review that listing to see whether the problem you are having has already been noted.
- This is not the place to request technical support from us. Please visit our support pages if you have a
problem you would like to solve.
- If you come across a page that doesn't show properly, validate it for correct usage of HTML before submitting a bug report. You can
validate pages using a validator such as http://validator.w3.org, or http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/validator.
- Please bear in mind that Opera versions 2.12 through 3.62 support HTML 3.2 and some extensions. HTML 4.0 is supported beginning with Opera 4.
- In your report, you should be very detailed about how to get to the page in question, especially as far as forms or actions taken by the
page are concerned (e.g. which buttons should be pressed).
- There are some cases, particularly with secure services, where the site itself determines which browser can be used, and if Opera is not
supported or recognized, access to that page might fail. We suggest you contact the site in question directly and ask them to support
Opera and other browsers.
- Please refer to our newsgroups for information and help files before you submit a bug
report.
