Microsoft Research works in partnership with universities around the world through its University Relations Group. The group engages with university researchers, faculty, staff and students to support the use and integration of Microsoft technologies in Computer Science research. We also work with accreditation boards, publishers and industry partners to provide resources and tools in support of university efforts.

The University Relations group serves to further Microsoft’s objectives in its relationships with partners in academia and industry, including:

• Reinforcing Microsoft’s long-term commitment to higher education and its partnership with institutions of higher learning.
• Increasing access to and successful use of Microsoft technologies in the world research community, and in the university community generally.
• Developing and supporting a community of faculty and students who share information, ideas and technology.
• Maximizing the positive impact of research conducted outside of Microsoft on our own technologies and research.
