Soul Calibur (DC)

Fight Club

Playstation
Akuji the Heartless- 6.0/10 -- A game that seems so damned average, its just difficult to get yourself all worked up over it.

Irritating Stick- 7.0/10 -- Its doubtful that you’re going to see too many Irritating Stick clones. If you do, its time to make peace with whatever god you want to believe in, because the end will have to come soon after.

Lunar SSSC- 9.8/10 -- A game that is so touching, so well-written, so true-to-roots, that I have a new favorite.

Street Fighter Alpha 3-- 8/10 -- A good port, but arcade perfect it is not.

Street Fighter Zero 3 Import-- 7/10 -- I wanted the real thing, and I feel cheated because I didn't get it.

Syphon Filter- 9.0/10 -- Syphon Filter is not perfect, but it IS awesome, and it deserves to be in most any Playstation collection.

N64
Castlevania 64- 7/10 -- Castlevania only manages to stay above the dreaded ranks of the average platformer by the tip of a whip.

Mario Party- 9/10 -- Leave it to that clever Nintendo to come up with a game that sometimes seems specifically designed to RUIN YOUR DAMN CONTROLLERS!

Rogue Squadron- 7/10 -- Underneath some shakiness is a pretty good game worth a try at least. And given some time, it might even grow on you.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil- 8/10 -- While T2 is much improved over the original, it isn't as great of a game as I hoped.

Vigilante 8- 8/10 -- If you were a TW fan, or never played TW but like the idea of vehicular violence, you should give this a try.

WCW Nitro- 3/10 -- "WCW Nitro, for the N64, may be the worst game that I have ever played."

Wrestlemania 2000- 9/10 -- "Wrestlemania 2000 is the game WWF fans have been waiting for. Take the ease of play and fun factor of THQ's WCW games and combine them with the WWF's attitude and you have the ultimate wrestling game. That along with a wonderful create a wrestler feature makes WM2K a must buy for N64 owners."

Dreamcast
Marvel vs. Capcom- 7.1/10 -- "Marvel vs. Capcom is rental for most gamers. You should only buy this game if you are a diehard fan of the VS. series. "

NFL2k- 9.4/10 -- "NFL 2K is Sega's first attempt at a football game for Dreamcast. Thanks to those wonderful folks at Visual Concepts, NFL 2K is light years ahead of any of their Saturn titles. In fact, its a notch of above any other football title period."

Sonic Adventure- 8.8/10 -- "Sonic Adventure isn't a groundbreaking title like Nights or Mario 64 but its great title that shows what the DC can do. "

Soul Calibur- 10/10 -- "Okay, admit it. Sword fighting is really cool. That's why Soul Edge was such a smash hit. Well, that, and it was a great game. So, where do you go from there? Simple - create a sequel that makes the original look like NES Kung Fu. And that's what Soul Calibur does - it is perhaps one of the greatest fighters ever."

Sega Rally 2- 10/10 -- Quite possibly the finest racer ever to grace a home console, and if it's any indication of what may lie ahead for Dreamcast owners, Sega has a very bright future ahead of them.

Trickstyle- 9.6/10 -- "Trickstyle is a sound investment if you like racing games or like a good challenge. It really isn’t a party game, but it’s an awesome addition to any Dreamcast library."

PC
Baldurs Gate- 8/10 -- This game is the best thing to come to the PC in the realm of Role-playing games for a LONG time.

Quake 3 Arena- 8/10 -- This game is the best thing to come to the PC in the realm of Role-playing games for a LONG time.

Arcade
Guantlet Legends- 7/10 -- Hell, if disco can rise from the dead, why can't this genre? Gauntlet Legends just might be the game to kick it off.

Star Wars Trilogy- 8/10 -- Sega makes yet another great arcade game. Star Wars fans will eat it up, but anyone can play it.

Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike- 7.5/10 -- If your an SF fan or fighting fan looking for a new fix then 3rd Strike is your game.

Tech Romancer- 4/10 -- Capcom is a quality fighting game company and I'm hoping that this isn't the best they could do with this game.

Zombie Revenge- 9/10 -- Have any of you ever played a game that was just so incredibly good that you couldn't help but forget about all other games?

Movies
Fight Club - Fight Club is not so much an assault on the senses as an all out war, intensely lyrical and cerebral, an acid trip tempered and focused on the boiling rage of the incredibly shrinking modern man. -RottenZ

Pokemon: The First Movie- The best way to sum up P:TFM is that it's an hour and a half version of the show. Sure, parts of it are beefed up with some computer graphics, but more or less, it's kind of like watching TV. The jokes are more or less the same, the characters play their usual roles, etc.

Three Kings - AWESOME! I absolutely loved this movie! Although it was a little different from what I thought it was going to be, I really enjoyed it. I love how the first scene is shot, with the camera over the shoulder... that was a great shot. And the grittyness resolution made it feel like you were there. The story was pretty good too.. and Marky Mark (Mark Walberg) did a great acting performance, as did George and heh, Ice Cube. This is a good movie, go see it now. -RONIN

Music
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile
10/10 -- The Fragile is well worth the wait for NIN fans. Reznor combines the style of previous albums with new influences like classical, symphonic and rap to create an incredibly balanced, complex, and challenging double album. TF is an epic masterpiece and one of the greatest albums of the 90's. -Cy

Slipknot - Slipknot
9/10 -- My personal choice for album of the year. Slipknot combines alternative with hardcore, mixing screaming lyrics with soft ones. The intense profanity of Surfacing and others is quite well used, and definitely not for the young ones. This album is filled with great tracks, including Surfacing, Liberate, and my personal favorite, Wait and Bleed. There really isn’t a bad song on the CD. And we can’t forget the super demento circus clown cover, which looks great in your collection. A must have for any hardcore fan. -Spec

Foo Fighters- Nothing Left to Lose
4/10 -- While the single Learn To Fly is getting old, the best track on the record, Breakout, is new and fresh. Unfortunately, aside from one other good track, the rest of the CD is pretty much crap. Lyrics are repeated throughout the song, with uninteresting instrumentals accompanying them. The best thing about this album is the Foo Fighters temporary tattoo that comes in every case. Speaking of the case, it’s one of those damn paper things that rips unless you take the best care of it. Definitely NOT Foo Fighter’s crowning moment. -Spec

Anime
Neon Genesis Evangelion- Death and Rebirth- Good -- You could bypass this movie altogether and not miss much.
Neon Genesis Evangelion- End of Evangelion- Excellent -- But don't fear Eva fans. We wanted a real ending, and boy, have we gotten one, in the form of the second Eva movie.
Other
Falcon Northwest Mach V- ***** -- Blazing speed in a box.
