Requirements
Your
computer must have, at least the following configuration
to run WinLinux 2000.
- a
Pentium class processor
- 16
MB RAM
- VGA
video card
- Windows
95 or Windows 98
- an
IDE disk drive with approximately 500MB free space on
a FAT32 system (Windows 98) or near 1GB free space on
a FAT16 system (most Windows 95), for a full setup.
To enjoy
WinLinux in full, we recommend also the following:
- a modem and an Internet connection (modem must be ISA or Plug'n'Play)
- 64 MB RAM
- SVGA video card
- a sound card
- free HD space to install third
party applications
Note
that the following hardware and software are not supported by this release
of WinLinux 2000: modems that depend on software drivers
(known as winmodems), USB bus, software compressed hard disks
(e.g., Doublespace).

Linux cannot be infected by any DOS/Windows executable virus
that exploits operating system flaws. That does not include
viruses that exploit specific application features, like
some word processor macro viruses.

Although Linux supports most hardware devices which are
likely to be on your computer, Linux may not support all
