Carbon SDK
The latest version of the Carbon 1.0.2 SDK for Mac OS is now available to all ADC members. This SDK provides all the files needed to begin Carbon development. CarbonLib 1.0.2 supports Mac OS 8.1 and greater.[Nov 12]

Apple has announced Mac OS 9.0. This software release includes several new and revised features for Apple's Developer Community. [October 5]
G4 Technical Resources
Motorola's AltiVec Technology, embodied in the G4 processor, expands the current PowerPC architecture through the addition of a 128-bit vector execution unit, which operates concurrently with existing integer and floating-point units. Apple has recently posted a variety of technical resources to its G4 web site to help you accelerate your own applications. Developers with qualifying software products can use the "Accelerated for G4 with Velocity Engine" promotional graphic logo on qualifying software packages, in advertising and marketing communications, and as a badge on web sites to promote increased performance.
