Password Protection Scripts

These scripts include a webmasters administration script to add, change, remove and show registered users. Subscription Site Script

Operating a subscription web site is rapidly becoming the preferred choice for webmasters seeking to own a business on the Internet. Subscription sites are the most profitable because they offer content with less overhead costs than selling a product or service online. Typical subscription sites making a profit are classified ads, resource directories, adult content sites and more. We offer a set of CGI scripts that automate the registration processing and maintenance of a subscription site's membership files.

Statistical Counter Script

This is the single-user script modeled after our counter service which has served thousands of sites this last year. The single-user version script provides all the same detailed statistics for your pages by date, time, hour of the day, accesses by country, unique visitor statistics, browser types and even where you are linked. All displayed in easy to read graphs allowing filtering for specific page analysis.

Webmaster's Post-It Script

The Post-It script is a tool for webmasters to post updates and/or messages to a page via their web browser. There are many applications for this script such as using it for a "What's New" page or as a technical notes page. The script is identical in functionality as the WWWBoard script except that it doesn't allow people to respond to the posted messages.

Simple Site Search Script

Simple to install and simple to use site search script searches pages within defined directories returning a listing of matching pages from keyword(s) entry. The script returns the contents between the <TITLE> and </TITLE> attribute.

File Management Script

The file management script allows you to make changes to your pages without having to go into FTP or telnet. This is an excellent script for those with a web board needing to make mass updates like URL changes to previously posted messages. We recently used it to change our email address within the entire site. With over 1,000 pages we accomplished the change to all our pages in less than a half hour.

Unique Hit Counter

This script reads your server logs and return the number of unique visitors and/or total hits. For most, you could display a message similar to the one below. The script also allows incrementing of hit totals for those whose logs are reset periodically. Because server logs are eventually reset, being able to carry over total hits from period to period will keep the displayed totals on your pages ever rising.

This counter is the most accurate of any counter you can use. Unlike other counters, this counter will still work even if the visitor has auto-load graphics turned off or the page never entirely loaded. The reason is because this counter script displays the results from your server log in real-time and not from ordinary incrementing counters that will not work for browser's that don't load graphics or premature page terminations. In other words, every hit is counted using this script.

Web Address Book Script

Many sites would like to incorporate databases, such as address books, product catalogs, reference databases and such into their pages. More than likely you've been seeing prices of $600.00 or more for online database programs that are too cumbersome and technical to use. We have a script that is easy to install and works with comma delimited text formatted databases. Our Address Book script was designed specifically for use with common database/spreadsheet exporting functions.

WWWAdmin Pro Script

Our WWWAdmin Pro Script allows you to create/edit/remove multiple web boards in addition to the original features offered with Matt's Script WWWAdmin 2.0a. Viewing Recent Hits

This is a good script if you wish to monitor the amount of traffic on your site at any given moment. This script will list the last 100 transactions in your access logs and automatically refresh every 5 minutes or however long you wish. We use this script extensively on our site as we receive approximately 8 hits per second on our site and this script helps us gauge our server's load.

Tracing Visitor's Footsteps

An important factor in developing a successful site is knowing the path your visitors travelled through your site. What page did they start at and what page did they end up on. Those are 2 pieces of information that are key to developing your site. And was the path they followed the path you laid out for them. This script will provide these answers for you. This would be equivalent to a department store being able to know what door their customers entered and what areas their customers shopped in first, second, third, etc., and then the area they ended up in before departing.

CGI Security Script

Many web managers have scripts which they don't want others to have access running from the web. These are usually maintenance type scripts used throughout their sites, such as the errors.cgi or wwwadmin.cgi scripts. Our logon script uses the passwd.txt in providing added protection which will allow web managers to log on their site and then only they will have access in running sensitive scripts.

View Server Errors Script

If you are putting scripts online, you should have access to your server's error log. This script displays the last 10 errors recorded in your server's log helping you in debugging your routines. If you don't know where your server's error log is, your provider isn't doing their job. This script can also be used in reading the last 10 entries of your access log by configuring your access log path into the script instead.

Environmental $ENV{'SCRIPT_NAME'}

This script lists all the environmental variable values being returned by your server. Knowing the environmental variables will assist you in knowing the results that should be returned from your scripts.
