Today's short update to N-Query deals with Banjo-Kazooie sequels, Evil Dead, April 2000, DVDs and Dolphin versus PS2.

Life After Banjo.

Hey ,I have totally conquered Banjo-Kazooie and I need you to tell me if I will need it to play Banjo Tooie. I want to trade in Kazooie for store credit and am probably gonna get the second one so do I still have to keep it to play Tooie? Thanks.

Unless Rare's plans have changed, you will need Banjo-Kazooie in order to fully enjoy the sequel, and vice versa.

Evil Not So Dead.

Someone asked about "why not an Evil Dead vidgame?". Well, according to Bruce Campbell there won't be a sequel to ED3 because it didn't make enough money in the box office. I really doubt a game will be coming out soon, or ever.

Well, on the other hand I'm a sure Turok movie wouldn't make any money if it was released before the game, but it would now...
thirty-three

You oughta pick up the Army of Darkness special edition DVD that was released last week. It features audio commentary from Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell. After listening to it all, I don't think an Evil Dead sequel is entirely out of the question. It just might happen.

The game, meanwhile, is a definite. THQ is publishing Evil Dead: Ashes to Ashes for PC and PlayStation. It's going to be in the style of Resident Evil. The announcement was made a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, it's not coming to Nintendo 64 for obvious reasons. D'oh!

Rare.

I just want to ask you: Is Rare developing games for the Playstation 2 and Dreamcast? I heard this from my mate and I'm not sure of its reliability. Thanks.

That is completely false. Rare will create games for Nintendo's Dolphin exclusively, just as it has done for Nintendo 64).

April.

April 2000 could be a huge month for 64 owners. Just think if Perfect Dark, Zelda: Gaiden, and maybe The World Is Not Enough all come out in April! What game do you think would rule? I might have to buy them all! Thanks.

All three games will rule. However, don't expect them to arrive the same month. Nintendo will not release three potentially huge titles like that in the same time period. Expect a delay or two. Gaiden will likely slip. The World is Not Enough will arrive later.

Dolphin.

Hey, I was reading the survey they did on the Nintendo Dolphin and how no Japanese people are going to actually go for it. How do you think the Dolphin will do against the PS2, and if you had to choose one console, what one out of the 2 would it be? Thanks.
Dopeness

I've always tried to give it to you guys straight instead of taking the system cheerleader route. With that said, I expect Sony's PlayStation 2 to ultimately outsell Dolphin worldwide.

Unless:
1) Nintendo signs big third-party developers Squaresoft and Namco, among others.
2) Nintendo has an excellent launch lineup for Dolphin.

As far as quality of games are concerned, though, I'm confident that Nintendo's next-generation console will be my system of choice. I've said it a million times, I know, but it's all going to come down to the quality of games for these next-generation machines. The power will be comparable.

Personally, If I had to choose between Nintendo/Rare versus Sony/Squaresoft, it would be a very quick choice. That's just me. And there will be many, many people who could just as easily go with Square and PS2.

Next-generation Zelda. Next-generation Mario. Next-generation Metroid. A Rare first-person shooter without any limitations on power. All of these games are almost a certainty for Nintendo's console. Dolphin is going to rock.

Of course, I'm still buying a PS2 the first day it comes out.
