Eidos Takes a Page from the French

Maximum Holdings not technically Maximum anymore.

November 15, 1999

Eidos, the company that Tomb Raider built, has obtained 19.96% of the share capital of Maximum Holdings Inc. You're saying to us right now, "Who?" Well, Maximum Holdings is a "Los Angeles based Internet company that is building a specific entertainment portal..." Any clearer now? Thought not. The point is that Eidos wants a stronger internet presence. Charles Cornwall, CEO of Eidos and man of few words, puts it this way: "Eidos is a…company whose products…will be…distributed…through the internet." He later went on to say that "Maximum…has a…lead…in deploying…strategy for the…industry." The reported "consideration" for the acquisition is $55 million minus some miscellaneous outlays.
