What's New in Version 2.3 Beta 13

Added Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear support.

Added the Rogue Spear Retreat server listing for Rainbow Six and Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear.

Fixed crashing caused by different Rainbow Six versions.

Now display Rainbow Six message of the day in server comments column.

Removed debugging codes that were appended to a Rainbow Six server name.

Fixed several memory leaks.

Fixed a problem which would sometimes cause a Quake III Arena game to be identified as a Quake II game.

Fixed a problem in PlayerWatch which would cause Qtracker to crash sometimes when double-clicking in the player name area when it was empty.

The PlayerWatch window will now become the topmost window if you click in the playername area. Previously the window would stay obscured.

Fixed a problem where Find Playable Games would do nothing when selected from the Servers pull down menu.

Added Drakan: Order of the Flame support.

Added Mplayer.com server listing for Drakan: Order of the Flame.

Added release descriptions to the New Version Available dialog. You won't actually see this in action until the next release is available since you only see this dialog when new releases are available. :) This dialog is a placeholder and will be replaced with a skinned dialog shortly.

The PlayerWatch found players window now remembers where it was positioned on-screen. It's position will be restored when you re-run Qtracker.

Renamed "Find Playable Game" to "Find Internet Games".

What's New in Version 2.3 Beta 12

Fixed a background drawing issue in the active server view. This would cause garbage to appear to the right of your rightmost column.

Fixed a problem with DirectPlay which would cause this error to appear when connecting: "ERROR: Could not locate Internet TCP/IP Connection for DirectPlay". This only effected users outside of the United States and the United Kingdom.

The PlayerWatch info scroll is slightly faster and more smooth.

I re-wrote a ton of code involved in game support. This will make extremely easy for me to add support for additonal games in the future, and also chops off around 120k from the .exe.

Added support for Nerf Arena Blast! There are no public server listings for this game, so support is limited to LAN games and known IPs that you input into your folders.

Fixed a problem which caused music/mp3 servers stored in your folders to never be found (display in the active servers view). This bug appeared only in Beta 11 (possibly even 10).

Renamed "Refresh Servers F5" to "Refresh All Servers F5" in the View menu. Also renamed in the right-click menu in the Active Servers View.

Added "Refresh All Servers F5" to the right-click menu in the Folders View.

Added a new option to refresh a specific game type or folder instead of refreshing all servers.

Added support for Rainbow Six.

Reduced the amount of memory PlayerWatch uses, and also improved CPU utilization.

Scrolling player information in the PlayerWatch window will now always be correct.

Players will now be removed from the PlayerWatch window when they leave the server they were found on.

Added support for The Wheel of Time.

Your mouse cursor will now change to a gripper hand when over areas of the PlayerWatch window which can be clicked to drag the window.

What's New in Version 2.3 Beta 11

Fixed the sort flickering in the active servers view. I didn't realize how annoying that was on slower computers, but at least the sorts were fast and perfect. :) Now they're fast, perfect, and not annoying. :)

Removed the ShareWare notice.

Changed how I draw in the status pane (top gray area) to eliminate flicker, and for... umm.. stuff. You'll find out shortly... :p

Fixed a problem with the BarrysWorld UK Quake II master server listing. Qtracker would only find, maybe, 15% of the servers on the listing. All better now. :)

Fixed numerous GDI resource leaks. If you were having a problem getting "unable to allocate resource" dialogs appearing continuously, this has probably been fixed.

Added scrolling player/server information to the PlayerWatch dialog. Click on a player to see more real-time information about them and where they're playing.

Fixed a problem which would prevent you from connecting to any QuakeWorld or Quake II engine-based games if you had "+exec" in your command line.

Fixed a problem in PlayerWatch which would cause some Quake III players to not be found.

Fixed MP3/Music/Shoutcast support again. They changed their web site format again and broke me.

Changed the way I resolve hostnames. If you were having problem resolving, it should work fine now.
Changed my querying procedures for servers when using "Find Playable Game..." You should get more accurate pings.

The PlayerWatch window will now be properly activated when clicked on its taskbar entry.

What's New in Version 2.3 Beta 10

Broke up the Half-Life Valve server listing into WON East and WON West. There doesn't appear to be a difference in the servers returned, but you never know down the road...

Added flat headers.

Fixed a bug which would cause the Shogo checkbox in View->Options->Games to be ignored, so you couldn't get rid of Shogo.

Fixed a bug which would cause the View->Options dialog to appear every time you tried to connect to a game, even though you've told Qtracker where you find your games' executable. To work around this while you're waiting for the next release, click on the "Connecting to a Server" tab before clicking "OK".

When connecting to a game server, if you haven't told Qtracker where to find the executable for the game you're trying to play, the View->Options dialog will appear with the game already highlighted for you. Just click Browse or type in the appropriate information and you're ready to go.

Added a new sound event: "Found a player". Hmmm... I wonder why I added that...

Added the Telefragged Unreal server listing.

Removed the OGN Unreal server listing.

Fixed the Epic MegaGames Unreal server listing.

Added Unreal Tournament support.

Added Connect Using Password option for Unreal and Unreal Tournament servers. Neither game notifies me if it will require a password, so I can't automatically prompt you. This option will allow you to enter a password so you can connect properly.

Added Spectate option for Unreal Tournament. When Spectate is active and you connect to an Unreal Tournament server, you'll be an observer and can watch the action.

Fixed a problem when double-clicking on the Qtracker tray icon. After Qtracker appeared, occasionally the next icon in your tray would receive a double-click event causing a menu or window to appear from another program.

Added the Telefragged SIN server listing.

Removed 2 id Quake II server listings that no longer returned servers.

Fixed the Tribes Master: USA server listing. It will now return servers.

Added the Telefragged Heretic II server listing.

Added the Telefragged Hexen II server listing.

Removed the Raven HexenWorld master server listing.

Added the Telefragged HexenWorld master server listing.

Fixed Shoutcast (MP3/Music) support.

Added BarrysWorld UK Quake II master server listing.

Fixed the Tribes Master: UK server listing. It will now return servers.

Added the following Tribes master servers: USA 2, USA 3, and UK 2.

When downloading a new version of Qtracker, you will be asked if it's okay to exit the program. Exiting Qtracker allows the update to be installed properly. Heh, of course you won't actually see this in action until the next release...

Added PlayerWatch. Wow, 4 months of work get summed up in two words.

Re-wrote my sorting routines. They're now real-time and extremely fast. You'll probably notice a little flickering, but it was a necessary evil. I'll fix that at a later date.

Fixed a problem where active servers weren't always visually updated with up-to-date information (ie. ping). This would cause the ping and other items to never change.

What's New in Version 2.3 Beta 9

Beta 8 has been pulled due to a problem with its Kingpin connection code. This bug has been fixed in Beta 9.

Game and folder icons are now pulled from "Graphics\Game Icons\Game Icons-Small.bmp" for the folder view on the left. This was the only part of the program that didn't pull icons from that bitmap.

Added South Park support. There aren't any public South Park server listings that I'm aware of, so you'll have to manually add IPs. LAN servers are automatically discovered.

When viewing Unreal player details, player pings are now visible.

When viewing Turok 2 player details, player deaths are now visible.

When viewing Turok 2 player details, a players color/team is now visible if set by the player.

Added Turok 2 support. This was sorta already in there, I just finished off LAN support. Same deal as South Park, there isn't a public server that I'm aware of, so you'll have to stick to LAN play or manually input IP addresses.

If a server listing has no servers "Find Playable Servers" will automatically cancel itself and display "No Servers Found". Prior to this it would sit there until you hit F8.

Added new sound event called "No servers found". This is for when a server listing has no servers in it.

Added Kingpin support.

Added the German Quake III master server: Splatterworld.

Added the Scandinavian Quake III master server.

Added the Australian Quake III master server.

At startup, Qtracker now checks for a newer version of itself. An upgrade dialog will appear if a newer version exists. This feature can be disabled.

Added "Check for New Version" to the Help menu.

Added checkbox to View->Options->Misc to enable/disable startup check for a newer version.

What's New in Version 2.3 Beta 7

Added WinAmp and Sonique buttons to the View->Options->Music tab. If you click on them, you'll be magically transported to their homepages so you can download either MP3 player.

All of the small game icons are now pulled from an external .bmp file. This means anyone can modify the icons however they choose. Icons are 17x16x16bpp.

Reduced memory usage by small game icons, and sped up several key functions that use them. I doubt anyone will notice. This is in preparation for PlayerWatch.

Fixed the Shoutcast server listing (retrieving Music), they changed the format of their web page enough to screw me up.

Completely re-wrote my HTML parsing routines in preparation for user-maintained server listsings. Translation: soon you'll be able to add server lists yourself...

When connecting to a music (Shoutcast) server, if you don't have a streaming audio program (WinAmp/Sonique) configured, the View->Options->Music dialog will automatically appear so you can configure one.

If Qtracker was minimized and it's tray icon visible when auto-connecting to a server, the tray icon will now be removed properly.

Fixed the id Software Quake III Arena server listing.

When connecting to a Music (ShoutCast/streaming audio) server, Qtracker no longer checks if the server is full. This fixes the problem which would not allow you to connect to Music server you stored in a folder.

The Qtracker tray icon now requires a double-click to restore the Qtracker window.

Added a one-time Shareware notice at program startup.

SIN support now works again.

Fixed a bug which caused the controls in View->Options->Broadcasts to not be initially grayed if broadcasting was disabled.

Revised my ping code. Pings should be more accurate now, except for TCP/IP LAN pings. I'm working on that.
