Macross Plus has some of the best animation that I have ever seen, With a plot that is based on something as common place as a rivalry between friends over the heart of a girl, it is an OAV series that can easily be used to introduce new people to anime. The concert scene with Sharon Apple is easily one of the most visually rewarding sequences I have ever seen and is worht the price of the tape all by itself, since one of the majot plot aspects of the OAVs is the music, it tends to be VERY high quality. I have only seen the OAVs so far, but I'm sure that if the movie is based off of them (which it is) it too must be great to watch and listen to! Like all the Anime on this site, I highly recommend this one!
