Was the GTA2 Demo Timer Crack a good idea or not?

I support the GTA 2 timer crack, like the guy Azz is arguing with, until the full game is released, and you can afford it. The crack is hardly WAREZ,
wich I think is scum, ripping people off.The crack doesn't violate any copyrights, it doesn't add any of the features of the full GTA 2 except the lack of a bellyfull of explosives. I point out that people were more supportive of the GTA 1 timer crack. Why ? SIimple. The fact that the GTA 1 timer crack was just a replacement execute. The GTA 2 timer crack turns more people off, because it was made using a crack engine, and it has some stupid hacker handle in the "made by" section. If it
had just been a replacement mission file, it wouldn't have been frowned on as much, I'm certain. Let me say, never judge a program by it's installer. If they bothered to actually MAKE a new level for the demo, they should give people a chance to PLAY the demo. After installing the demo and realising it was timed, I playyed it once, then never touched it again, because I didn't want to buy a game that I hadn't really seen. I managed to get in one mission. ONE. Now I've installed the crack, I've seen the missions, I've seen how good the level design is, I've seen every car, I've seen the flame thrower (that I'd never had time to find) I'm saving up for a game called
"Grand Theft Auto 2"

First off, it is a B*tch finding that crack! Took me forever but i finally got it from this guy on mIRC. I innitially thought the crack was going to make GTA2 more fun, cause off all the time i get to wander. It got BORING, fast. After you beat all of the missions, you just wander around town and run people over and get caught by the cops. There is absolutly nothing else to do after you find everything and try everything, I wanted to see if the level would end, but it just never stopped. Now I realize it is MUCH more fun to do a mission or two then run at some cops and Instaniously Combust and send them and yourself flying for the roofs.
I really dont think it should be considered illegal, It just lets the people that hate the 6 mins. expore more of how the game is and give them more time to evauate the game. Im still going to buy the full verson when it comes out, cause this crack does not really make the game "Complete"

Definately a good idea. 6 minutes isn't enough time to do anything. I want to do all the missions included, I want to mow down some people, and I want to use my rocket launcher to blow the fucking city to the ground. But in 6 minutes? GREAT idea.

I THINK its GREAT not having time I found out that If you put a Gangs Car on the car Crusher you Get different stuff COOL STUFF like a silenced muchin Gun and other cool stuff.

I think the time crack is good. I love the demo, but after six minutes i have to start over, so whats wrong with the crack? If you're saying stuff about how changing anything is illegal, than changing the look of a simple car is illegal. Personally, I don't care. I like editing my cars, and I think the time limit should have not been in the demo UNLESS it came out after the full version. (oh yeah, where can i get a time crack?)

I think it is a good idea, until the full game is released. Then, everyone should take it off there sites. If it is around before the game is released, it is doing no one any harm.

I think If the timer hack is used in a good way it allright, Meaning
Good Way: Used Before GTA2 releases On store Shelves, and deleted on the date the game releases Weather you have bought GTA2 or Not.
Bad Way: Putting It on your GTA/GTA2 site or linking to it So people who have no plans on Buying the Game and just use the Time Hack Then Delete the Demo and Never Buy GTA. Also They will put it on there sites making it more of a hazord.
Good Way: Used the Explore GTA2 for Testing On Hacking it, editing Cars, Tiles, Ect
Bad Way: Emailing, Giving It to people you do not know Trust Or a person who might just want to play the Game for 2 weeks and never buy.
Good Way: Giving it to a GOOD Friend That you know and Trust that will Buy GTA2.
Bad Way: Telling People Not to use it and To Not Support It when your Really using it your self And Denying it. Heh Don't Worry My Puter Can't even Handle GTA2.
When the Game Releases Im sure in no time there will be a CD Crack So here is some thoughts about that.
Good way: If your parents are Not togeather and you have a computer at both houses and You have Bought the game Keep the CD at the house your at most Install On your other computer and use the CD crack so You don't have to keep Bringing the Cd With you back and forth and a risk it could get broken.
Bad Way: installing on a Friends Computer That has No intention of Buying GTA2 and Giving him the CD Crack.
Good Way: God Forbid if the cd some how gets broken, scratched, lost, or Unusable, Getting the Crack so you don't have to go out and Spend Hard earned Money on the Game again.
Very Bad Way: Downloading a Warez Copy and Getting the CD Crack So you don't have to Go out and Pay Money for a great Game. And if you say you want to test it? GET THE DEMO WITH OUT THE TIMER HACK err.

I think the GTA 2 timer crack is a good idea. With the normal time limit you don't get time to do all the missions. However with the crack you can play the demo out at your own pace and if you want more, you can BUY THE GAME !!!

Personally, I don't like the Timer Crack because the demo is supposed to be a tester of the full version and I feel we should leave it the way it was intended to be. But, I am very upset at the length of it. In case any of you didn't realize, the demo is actually 3:30 NOT six minutes. 3 and a half minutes is a ridiculously short time for a demo. We should get at least 15 mins. where we can do one or two missions and then spend the cash we make. The length of the demo almost leads me to condone the crack but instead I'd rather just wait, it's only 9 days.

In the great Zod’s opinion the GTA2 time crack is unnecessary. Why, you ask? You’re about to find out, the best way I can describe the crack is through the ever-popular Quake. How many times do you remember playing a Quake map and seeing something really “neato” in the distance, but a fence seems to surround the level and block you from exploring those great backdrops. So you suddenly believe you are Sherlock Holmes and put on your detective cap, hit the ‘~’ button and bring down the console and type in “noclip”. OHH you’re so smart! Now you can go beyond the boundaries of the level and walk through that ugly looking fence, that has been keeping you trapped in this god-for-saken level. But what’s this? There is nothing to explore, it’s just an illusion and that ugly old fence is just grey on this side, you walk up the scenery ever so close, just to find out you hit a wall. It sure is boring back here, you begin to wish you where back there on the other side of the fence fighting baddies. This is the very same feeling I got when I tried GTA2 with a crack, the authors didn’t develop the game to be fun beyond the 6 minutes, just as the level author didn’t develop the Quake level to be played beyond it’ boundaries/fence. It’s just boring with no limit, there are only 6 or so missions…exactly 6 minutes of fun, no more no less, so pull that GTA2 crack, and enjoy the game the way authors intended.

not, whatever the answers to the other questions, this is the real
point.
Anyone who plays a cracked demo is really only cheating themselves out
of the whole gaming experience, shame on them!
