• Linux Related Search Engines
• Freshmeat, as most Linux users already know, is a news service that keeps you up to date on new apps. But the search tool on freshmeat is very useful, as it alows you to search their database of software, so you can always find the most up to date piece and type of software you need
• Google is a Linux search engine that searches through webpages about Linux
• The Linux Webwatcher keeps tabs on updated pages. You can also search through their index of pages for what you want.
• The Linux FTP watcher watches dozens of popular ftp sites for any and all changes to files. (Including the only up to date portion of sunsite: the Incoming dir) It was recently rewritten, and now you can SEARCH all of these archives!
• Threshar runs the Linux Archive Searcher, well known to regulars as the LAS.
• Or you can search Sunsite directly, using sunsite's own Sunsite Searcher.
• Allinone has a couple hundred search engines listed.
• And of course, the Linux Software Map.
• Perhaps you will have some luck with this one, but it seems to be denying me access. The Loop Archive Linux Search is supposedly a very comprehensive Linux software search engine.
• Where to get Linux Programs and Utilities
• The Linux Games Site contains all sorts of general info involving games and Linux (getting games to run in emulators, game news, native linux games, etc)
• The Linux Game Tome contains a large collection of high quality games, complete with description and ratings.
• Linux Links By Goob houses one of the largest collection of Software links I have ever seen, and it is organized excellently. It's going to take me a few weeks to sift through this one to pick the stuff I like for Lsoft.html
• TOCOLS (The Ultimate Collection of Linux Software) is open for downloading. It doesn't have EVERYTHING, but it has a lot.
• Here is the much requested list of commercial software for Linux. This list is AMAZING. I never knew this many commercial programs existed for Linux.
• Linux Enterprise Computing also keeps track on commercial programs for Linux. Categorized for easy perusing.
• Redhat Software also puts out a list of commercial software
• The List of Linux Programs for John Q. NewUser is a service provided by s0nic, to help new users get Linux looking cool.
• Redhat's Linux Software page is slightly outdated (From July), but is a great source of good Linux programs
• The comp.windows.x.apps FAQ is a GREAT place to find all sorts of apps for X: Games, editors, debuggers, rendering programs, etc!
• The Linux Apps for New Users has some programs both new and old Linux users alike can benefit from.
• Web Wanderer Linux Applications and Utilities Page. There's not much you cant find here.
• Woven Goods for Linux What's New (Applications) - Newest applications on Woven Goods.
• The Complete Woven Good's Linux Program Index is also availavle.
• Jumbo.com's Linux software Index - A huge index of Linux software!

• The Linux MIDI and Sound Page lists countless free Linux sound utilities. If you haven't checked this place out, and dig both Linux and music, do it now. Very well done site.
