Community Advertisement - F.A.Q.
How do I advertise on Linux.com?
First, you must be a not-for-profit group. Good examples are the GNOME and KDE
projects that provide tangible benefits to the Linux community. (Un*x community
projects are acceptable as well if they are Open Source.)
What if I am a big company? Can I advertise on Linux.com?
No; however, if you DO have a Linux initiative, You may talk to our Content
Manager or the Site Manager and we may consider doing a profile on you for the
"Linux@Work" section.
How much does advertising cost?
If you are a 100% free project that supports the Linux community, and your
project is tasteful and deemed worthy for the community, we will give you
as many ads as you need for FREE!
What if I can't take the HITS!?!?
Don't worry, if you can't take the hits, and need extra bandwidth or hosting
to make sure your project doesn't get "Slashdotted", then just let VA Linux Systems know, and they will review
your project for hosting!
Can I turn the banner ads off?!?
We understand that many people just plain old don't like
banner ads. If you want to turn them off, even though
they are helping out the community ;), you can log in,
go to User Preferences and notice at the bottom:
"Turn off Banner Ads"
