 Volunteering @ Linux.com |
Why should you volunteer your time to Linux.com?
We are commited to the community. We believe that helping
the community out is something that every linux user should do, even
if he/she can't code. With Linux.com, you'll be able to help out
in whatever ways you can, as long as you are a hard working,
decent person that believes in Linux. If so, we probably have a job
for you.
What do I get for working on Linux.com?
If you are here to get something, you'd probably not want
to fill out the form below. There are a handful of paid staff,
but the majority of people that help/work on Linux.com are
volunteers. Even the Sr. Developers of the site are mostly
volunteers and work hard on the site just because they want to
help the community have a place they can be proud of. However,
a few of the perks of working for Linux.com are:
- @linux.com email alias
- Shell on development server to use for irc/working.
We are also looking for good people to work on various other projects
that we are associated with. So please, know that if you have skills
that we already have an abundance of, you may get asked to help and volunteer your
time for fine sites such as:
- Freshmeat.net
- Themes.org
- Propaganda (New site to be announced at a later date).
- Others...
We think these are good reasons to help out, plus, its just plain fun!
The staff are great people, and well, if you want to give something back
to the community, fill out the Volunteer form! We'll review your submission,
and someone from the Linux.com staff will get back to you as soon as
possible. Please, allow for a reasonable amount of time for us to get
back with you, (1 week to 3 weeks), depending on how slammed we are
with requests.
Thanks so much for taking time to read this,
Yours Truly,
Trae McCombs
