I've Been Busy...With a Capital G!

Hello grasshoppers. Sorry for being late with my log file, my life has been very hectic. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Two things I want to touch up on tonight. Linuxnewbie.org has reached over 2,000,000 hits! Some people say, "well thats hits, whoopee." Linuxnewbie.org doesn't have many graphics so those hits are pretty damn good if ya ask me. I'm very proud of everyone's support and understanding of the vision of Linuxnewbie.org.</public thank you>.

The second item for discussion is things are going to change at Linuxnewbie.org. However, these are good changes :). The #1 thing that you will notice is a new color scheme. I've had numerous complaints and praises over the color scheme and to tell you the truth, I picked this scheme rather quickly and haven't had time to catch up with it--due to the enormous amount of work its taken to get Linuxnewbie.org this far.

The second thing is, a better navigation system and better way of sorting the current information. I want to categorize the information better possibly utilizing databases (which my ISP does not support--why? I don't know). If you have suggestions please feel free to email me at feedback@linuxnewbie.org.

The Weekly Application

No application this week.

The Weekly Review

This week Linuxgirl and I rented "Analyze This," starring Billy Crystal and Robert DeNiro. Crystal plays Ben Sobol, a psychiatrist who runs a small practice with boring patients until one day Paul Vitti, played by DeNiro, a notorious crime boss needs help sorting out some of his problems.

Planning for a meeting of New York's rival mob families, Paul has had trouble sleeping and breathing. Paul can't admit to the fact that he is having panic attacks (let alone knows what they are). So Paul wants to sort out his problems and all roads lead to Ben. Or else. As Ben asks the question, "Am I supposed to turn you into a happy, well-adjusted gangster?" Ben faces the moral issue whether he should get involved with Paul. Meanwhile, Ben's is on his way to Miami to marry Laura (Lisa Kudrow), a TV reporter. This is where the movie gets even funnier.
Side note: great writing, great script--directed by Harold Ramis.

The last thing Laura expects is having to share her husband with Paul, the forceful and demanding crime boss on her wedding day. As both days approach, stress and demands come to a pinnacle: the wedding and the mob family meeting.

Kudrow is funny as usual as well as Crystal throughout the entire movie. I didn't notice any slumps or slow parts in the movie and I think this is mostly attributed to Crystal and DeNiro constantly together exchanging great scenes.

This movie is not only great for a date/chick movie, but is well suited for the guy as well--both Linuxgirl and I enjoyed it thoroughly and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with this movie. Come on its got DeNiro in it. Fahgettaboutit.

I gave Analyze This: 3.5 chops

The rating system used at Linuxnewbie.org consists of a highly complex technical data set that is statistically generated over a skew of linear probes comparing that with nuclear composites and then multiplied by 3. After that timely process, I basically give my opinions and rate a number of chops out of a possible 5.
