There is a new poll concerning Deep-Reep's great essay on the current status of the Star Control community. Make sure you check out that essay and then vote in the poll!

Let me throw this in as well, I have reworked the main news page here to take advantage of larger screen resolutions. It *should* look exactly the same in 800x600 so you won't even be able to tell the difference. I am thinking about moving the entire site to this structure to take advantage of your higher screen resolutions. If you have any problems with the news page, please voice them now!

Although the Submission form doesn't seem to be working properly yet, all veteran pilots are encouraged to stop by and mail in any comments, corrections or typo reports they have.

Also, there is a new version of Starrand, the old ship randomizer for
Starcon 2. Version 1.2 has eliminated the team-repetition bug and now
automatically loads the new teams.</sub>

Deep-Reep has written up a great "essay" on his feelings about the current status of the Star Control community. I have added this little piece to the "About" page. I think it is a great summary of current events for new visitors to the community. He also brings up many points that mirror my own feelings. That this is a great community, however it needs another game for us to continue for many more years (come on clones! :), the community could be more united, we need to take a more active role in finding TFB a publisher for another SC and maybe getting the SC trademark from Infogrames (Accolade), and that we can always use more people to help and contribute! PLEASE take a look at Deep-Reep's essay which addresses all of these points in greater detail. Drop him and email when you are done, or post your feelings and comments with the link above!

Howdy! The Umgah have helped me reorganize the SC Humor section here at PNF. I had to agree with them that the section was horribly organized. While we were at it, we added many new "SC lightbulb jokes" and some "Sheep Cloing?" jokes and many new "You Know You've Been Playing Too Much Star Control When..." jokes.

A new Star Control Web page was started today but is about only 1% finished, the site was created by Pages of Now and Forever Site Deputy "Black Dnyarri (Me)" and you can see the opening coming soon pic at http://www.angelfire.com/sc2/starcontrol/index.html and please link to this site even though it isn't finished, expect it to be at least 60% done in about a month. Hopefully it can have many sections based on Star Control II: The Ur-quan Masters, and a few sections on Star Control 3: The Kessari Quadrant. Hope that was enough news for you.

Steve B. sent me a new image of some Owa Voyagers guarding a rainbow world from Star Control 3. WoW! Very cool! Steve also mentioned that the XR Clone team has grabbed him up to be a 3D artist! Check out that image here!
