Free web-based email accounts are available to AltaVista Free Access users at mail.altavista.com. AltaVista Free Access does not currently offer POP-based email accounts. Can I access my own POP-based email account? AltaVista Free Access does not currently offer POP-based email accounts, but Free Access users may receive email via their own pre-existing POP-based email account. AltaVista also has a SMTP server available to those users who wish to send outgoing mail. Free Access users should adjust their email settings so that the incoming mail server is set to their pre-existing account and the outgoing mail (SMTP) server is set to "email.1stup.com". AltaVista Free Access will offer its own POP-based email access sometime in the near future. Until then, free web-based email accounts are available to AltaVista Free Access users at mail.altavista.com. Is there an SMTP (Outgoing Mail) server available?
